General Information
Park Entry
Six Flags Great America uses an Airport-like electronic screening system at
the front gate entry turnstiles. All bags, purses, etc. may be subject to
inspection. Sorry, coolers, food, drinks and picnic items may not be taken
into the park. Picnic tables are located at the far east end of the parking
lot - fires are not permitted.
Announcements / Paging
Six Flags Great America does not offer in-park paging. Pages may be made
only for medical emergencies. Be sure to have a specific meeting place for
your group. Guests may leave messages for parties at Guest Relations.
Automatic Teller Machines (ATM)
For your convenience, ATM's are located inside and outside the Park's
entrance, in County Fair near Skeedaddle, in the Farmer's Market area, in
Southwest Territory near Crazy Buffalo, in Orleans Place near French Quarter
Collectables, and in Yukon Territory near Claimjumpers.
Baby Care
Baby changing tables are located in most women's and men's restrooms. A
private area for nursing is located at First Aid.
Cameras And Video Equipment
Camera Equipment is not allowed on most rides! For your safety only the
following mild rides allow cameras: Columbia Carousel, Six Flags Scenic
Railway, And Sky Trek Tower. Ride Hosts are not responsible for any personal
items.
Candy or Gum Chewing
Do not eat candy, food, etc... or chew gum while riding any ride.
Car Trouble
If you are experiencing car trouble, visit Guest Relations for assistance.
Credit Cards
American Express, Master Card, Visa, and Discover are accepted at the ticket
booths, all gift shops and at major restaurants.
Dress Code
Six Flags Great America enforces a dress code in keeping with their family
environment. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. Bikini tops and
clothing with inappropriate words, phrases or graphics are prohibited. All
clothing is subject to management review and discretion.
First Aid
Located in Hometown Park across from The Orbit. Emergency Medical
Technicians are on duty. Guests may also store and administer medication and
dispose of syringes at First Aid.
Flash Pass
There are three types of Flash Passes available.
Regular The Flash Pass
Wait as long as everyone else is waiting, but not in line.
You can enjoy your free time elsewhere in the park.
Gold The Flash Pass
Enjoy a significant reduction in wait time allowing you to ride more rides
with less wait.
Platinum The Flash Pass
Enjoy riding the rides with a 90 per cent reduction in wait time.
Consecutive Riding allows you to Wait Once and Ride Twice!
Prices vary by group size and type of pass.
Food and Drinks
Keep an eye on what your child eats. Avoid too many foods with high sugar
content. Natural juice chillers, bottled water and milk are available in the
park. It is not always a good idea to permit children to ride spinning rides
immediately after eating. Instead, you can watch some of the parks live
musical shows, see the Pictorium presentation, or visit the Arcade until enough time has
elapsed to settle tiny stomach. If it is a hot day, remember to drink extra
fluids and periodically take cover in the shade. Avoid eating lunch during
the noon hour or dinner at 5 p.m. Ride some of the more popular rides at
these times, while everyone else is eating their meals.
Guest Relations
Located at the main entrance, Guest Relations can assist with hotel,
tourist and Park Information. If you have any concerns, comments or
compliments about your visit, please notify Guest Relations before leaving
the Park.
Guests with disabilities
Please stop at Guest relations to pick up a Guidebook for Guests with
Disabilities. Hearing-impaired Guests are welcome to use the TDD telephone
at Guest Relations.
Lockers
There are plenty of lockers located at the front gate, Orleans Place
restrooms and County Fair Market restrooms.
Lost and Found
Claim lost items at Lost and Found, located at Lost Parents in Hometown
Park. Six Flags Great America is not responsible for anything lost, stolen
or broken. Please be aware of pre-ride announcements and secure all lost
items before boarding a ride.
Lost and separated children
When you enter the park, point out an employee dressed in uniform. Tell your
child, that if they become separated from your group, to find someone
dressed in that uniform. If your child(ren) become separated from your
party, contact the nearest host/hostess or security officer for assistance,
or visit Lost Parents in Hometown Park Across from The Orbit.
Re-Entry
If you intend to return to the park later the same day, please retain your
ticket and have your hand stamped at the main entrance prior to leaving.
Parent Swap
Under this program, one parent may wait with your child(ren) at the exit of
a height restricted ride.
The other parent enters the regular queue line and waits in line. When the
parent in line has ridden and exited, the parent who waited with the child
may enter the ride through the exit and ride. A child of appropriate height
may ride twice (once with each parent) if they so desire.
Park Info
Visit the park on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday when crowds are smaller.
Check the operating hours for the day you plan to attend.
Ride Openings
At various time during the season, some rides may be open only during peak
hours for example, noon - 8 p.m. Such variations will be posted at the ride
entrance.
Ride Restrictions
Six Flags Great America is a park for all ages. The rides and attractions
are unique and appropriate for different ages and heights. Height
restrictions are set by the ride manufacturer and are strictly enforced.
Riders should note the height and health restrictions (including pregnancy)
posted at the entrance to each ride. For your convenience a one-time height
check is available at Guest Relations so the smaller Guests do not have to
be re-measured at each attraction.
Weather Safety
Rides may be closed for a time if there is lightning in the area, high winds
or moderate to heavy rain Most of the attractions and rides remain in
operation despite some rain. We will re-open any closed rides as soon as
possible.
No rain checks or refunds are available.
Smoking
Smoking is prohibited in all enclosed buildings and in ride queue lines.
Adult guests may smoke on outside patios and the main midway.
Stroller and Wheelchair Rental
Strollers and wheelchairs and electric convenience vehicles are available
for rent. However, the number is limited, so
you may want to bring your own stroller from home. A deposit of a valid
Driver's License, Photo ID Card, major credit card or Military ID is
required.
Telephones / Drinking Fountains
These facilities are located near each restroom throughout the park. Consult
park map for restroom locations.
